Pop culture imagenery references

Before I was talking and research about some artist that have been used the gender issue in their artwork, I would like have a view about the influence of some musicians artist specially in the pop / rock are. Not only in a aesthetic way, because I want to see in the more performance aspect too. The 80´s was such a good example moment in the popular culture, artists like Madonna or David Bowie what so represented in these age. Madonna that around all her career represented perfect the concept of chameleonic look, a woman that can adopt whole variable types of roles used in some occasion de androgynous point. Like in her “open you heart video” when we can watch her like a striper of a peep show that when she finish her “performance” like a “artist” as a “person” become a boyish character that have the arrogance to flirt with a young boy as we can image, a child.

Other reference I would like to inspired the aesthetic part of my project it´s Marilyn Manson (his own artist name it´s a mix of one the most famous actress and the other part for one of the most famous American criminal ) in his cover Mechanical Animals where he are represented like a hybrid character androgynous.
